Today have been a day of blockouts. We had a small meeting at the beginning of the day regarding the environmental aspect of the game. Cause they wanted a more cohesive experience when it came to the overall design of the mansion that we are doing, we made it by a room by room basis and they wanted it to feel more organic. So I brought it up with the designers and this led us to the question about our HUB area and our minimap. Originally we had a minimap in mind , like in The Binding of Isaac. But now that we don't have a set scale for the rooms the rooms would look weird on a minimap, so we said that we can have the map kind of drawn out on the floor on the main hub area. This would make it so that the players have more incentive to explore as well and not have the answer. Then you will see that the candle lights up when you have lit the altars.
So hopefully it's not too complicated and that we keep that idea because I think that it would add to the overall game feel. But now it's the weekend and we can relax for a few days. Well not me, I have a Design test for an Internship tomorrow morning! I hope that it goes well.
