"It's what comes after, not what it is right now" - Arrjan. Our leads words of wisdom as soon as I was about to write this. I was saying to the team that I feel really discouraged about the project right now the way things have been going lately. We apparently have to cut some more content again, the spectre is recieving some tweaks. So the dash that he had is now more of a teleport, it still behaves the same but the animation that it would get is scrapped.
So I'll try to do some more testing today. And the word that I've come to hate "HOPEFULLY" , I will not get neuseated when playing today. So I started today by remaking the spawner prefabs to my levels. Since I did not include the broken enemies that we had that messed things up. But now everyone is included. When I pushed all the new spawners jonathan got no enemies in my room number 4. And apparently they were all on the roof. It turns out I had all the boxes that they spawned from was a tiny bit in the ground. So that was one of the reasons why we've had enemies on the roof for so long. So I fixed so none of the spawns were within any wall or the ground or furniture. When I fixed that no longer did they spawn on the roof in room 4. So I started the game like 30+ times to see where they spawned on the roofs and I went through all the prefabs and corrected the spawn locations and after some time we no longer had the ROOFGANG as we got to call them over the weeks. So something good came out of my mistake at least.
Later on the day we discussed values again and got some in order before we got into a discussion with the artist about the animations for the ranged enemy. The majority of the artists wanted the hipfire animation. While we designers wanted the more aiming one. Because we want anticipation for our character so it's more telegraphed to the player. So when we see these 2 we all immediately chose the animation with more anticipation. So they argued for their cause and added a bunch of arguments with VFX and that the animations were not done and sounds and stuff. So just objectively with only these 2 gifs in front of us one of them are objectively better so they cant up their argument with additional stuff.. Anyhow they were gonna add vfx and stuff and we'll discuss more later.
The day have atleast felt productive today and we have gotten things done. Which is vey nice. And tomorrow we'll do the same I'm sure!
