The first weeks task were not completely done as they "should" have been. The reason being that we had not planned for certain things. Due to us not knowing about them. For instance, instead of making the towers shoot in the game our programmer, I think needed to make the towers rotate and face the enemy before shooting it. We knew and wanted the tower to turn around. BUT, we didn't know that it needed to be implemented now instead of later.
So that task which were scheduled for week 3 came before week 2. So the shooting mechanic is coming up next. The shooting was due for sprint 1 but has now been delayed until this week. As long as it's done by Friday for our Proof of concept it's all good.
A couple of more things that were planned for sprint 1 that did not make it was the enemy wave number, end point and spawn point, and player health. They all just correlates with one another in the way that we don't have a finished pathing for the enemies yet. For week one I just wanted the enemies to move forward at least, which we have. But implementing a spawn point and end point was basically pointless without proper pathing. Player health code was something else that was moved to sprint 2 now. Without enemies having an end goal we can't really take damage right. So that as well has been moved. As well as wave number, without the others we don't really need a wave numbers unless we have waves.
On another note our seconds sprint meeting was today and though I was not at it since I'm no lead. We heard some thing about our work and apparently the artists should work on concept art 2 weeks of the 5 weeks that we have instead of doing work for the project. Which I think is a complete waste of time. We didn't even know that they had to make an art guide at all so that takes A LOT of time that we have not accounted for when it comes down to the planning.
And we are suppose to have about 20 different models in the game. Albeit a lot of the same things with different outfits and hats. BUT still. And they still want the artist to make stuff that have no real impact on the game it self. To me it feels like the artists have an overall good vision of what we are going to make. And they have different areas that they work on . Michelle is making all the llamas and Johan is making the tourists. And making all those models in 3 weeks with rigging and all that feels like a very short amount of time. But hey, it's our first project and apparently we are doing things wrong. It's gonna happen of course. But to me it really feels like the things they tell us to prioritize is not something that will contribute to the game. If we had a real project with a lot of time. Then yes it's very important.
Oh well we'll see how things work out.
