P1;D21: Round 5, FIGHT.

Last week of the project. This is the home stretch. We still have a bunch of things to do..weird. We still need to implement the remaining waves. We only have 3 at the moment and we need 10. All with different stats. The animations are still not as nice as we want them. The projectile comes out before the animation is done. This is something we talked about and that I personally addressed in week 2. That it could be a problem. Because the animation should start before the spit comes out.


HOWEVER, The llamas don't know that they should spit until they have enemies within their range. So either they have to have longer range to compensate for how far the enemies walk before they should be spat on. But that only applies for the first one, and each consecutive spit that comes out we lose more and more distance that they travel I think. At least that's what my head thinks right now. Math is not my strong suit.. Another way to work around the animations were to be to put a slight delay before the shooting happens. But that creates another problem, well it's basically the same as the other "work around".


I thought about this for a while and I came up with a solution maybe. If we put the spitting animation in the cool-down slot between attacks, it would look like the llamas are winding up for their attacks. The problem with that is that the first spit for each enemy would like kind of wonky I think. But that's better than the alternative solutions I suppose. I brought this up to the programmers and the Rebecka who is in charge of the animations are not sure of how to do this. She has animation that is based if the llamas are attacking or not. So it's just a true/false activator.


I hope that the programming teacher can help with this. I really want the llamas to at least have a good looking attack animation in the end. The artists have worked hard for their things and it would only be fair to display them in the best light possible.


It's after lunch now and we soon have this weeks sprint meeting. I have no idea what the teachers are gonna say. I'm guessing something about us needing some last minute help. Which we really do.


After the meeting they told us that we probably need to crunch a bit to get the game done in time. But they believed that we could do it. Everything really comes down to the programmers at this point.
